Divisions

The Omaha Good Life Hockey Tournament is committed to keeping the level of play within each division as standardized as possible. We want each and every team in the division to hit the ice knowing that they have a reasonable expectation that they can win the game based on an overall equal level of skill between every team in the division.

To that end we have defined the skill level expected in each division to the best of our ability. Team captains should review these guidelines before putting together their roster – and consider whether each and every player they add to the roster meets the qualifications.

General Tournament Information

  • Teams will compete in ‘bracket’ play which will lead to the finals.
  • There will be a trophy awarded for each division.
  • Maximum 16 players/team – Minimum 11 players/team (including goalie)
  • All players must be 18 years or age or older for Advanced & Open divisions
  • All players must be 21 years or age or older for Novice, Intermediate & Intermediate Elite divisions
  • If you have a player you would like to roster that does not meet the division qualifications, but due to circumstances such as injury, age, etc. you feel should play in this division, you must clear it with the tournament directors. It may be necessary for the tournament directors to watch the player in action, so be sure to contact us early enough to facilitate this if needed.

Ringer Sanctions

  • The tournament directors reserve the right to disqualify individual players to maintain a proper level of play within each division.
  • Disqualified players will receive no refund of tournament fees.
  • Teams may not replace disqualified players.
  • We may disallow goals scored or assisted by disqualified players.
  • We also reserve the right to move entire teams to an appropriate division of play.
  • If any of these actions are taken we will notify the team captain as soon as is reasonably possible after the decision is made.
